The reason im writing this guide is becuse i looked in to Subster's facts on arena. Great starting guide by the way. if you haven't seen it read it.

link: http://www.wowrage.nl/index.php/topic,437.0.html

I my self started playing wow about 2.5 years ago(most of this time spent on retail). And i allways enjoyed pvp. but for me battlegrounds get kinda old real fast. But when arena was came it was new and fresh and still is. allways action, you allways need to think about what your are doing.

translation to things im going to say.

cc= crowd controll
burst= high damage in a short amount of time.
combo= combination of the 2 chars.
cd= cooldown

Team
not every team is a match made in heaven but they can still work.

strength's/weakness of your combo.

example.
frost mage/elemental shaman.(i've played this odd combo)
this team is a high burst team with moderate cc and healing.

counter combos, to every team there is a counter.

example.(still mage/shaman)
Resto druid/warrior an abillity to outlast with moderate damage, great healing and small weakness to mage cc.
okej why they are our weakness. when warrior is cc'd the druid can out last our burst. when warrior is up and running he is disabeling our burst.

Strategy

Allways have a plan. focus on it, follow it, adapt it.

When you know what your opponent's are locate the weakness and use it against them. Then what strength's does their team has and avoid them.
this is the foundation of any strategy.

Battle

In battle communication is key. call out every sheep every counterspell every fear and so on.

fighting in general in wow you want controll of the fight because it gives you the edege that you need to win.

follow your plan and addapt it if needed.

some times you will need to get them to run out of cd's to win especially when facing rouges with some teams.

never give up. you can win every fight. this is not true in some cases but it's how you have to think.

if you get a chance to drink do it!

Loosing

let's face it we don't like it.

but when you loose a fight look back at it and think what can we have done differently to win that fight.

example.
i should have kept that marauding warrior of him to let him escape and recover or anything else that you can think of.

if you think i missed or  just was wrong about any thing. then tell me what and motivate why and i'll edit this post.

that's it folk's hope you enjoyed it and maybe even learnd a thing or two.

Yeah thats why i linked too it my self. It's a great guide if your just starting out but thats just my oppinion. I wanted to point out the things that might be overlooked by some people.

Subter's guide is just basics like you will be mana burning as a priest and so forth. what my guide was intended to do is to show you the way to use your strength's. becasue when you get all your strats down you will be killing in arena pvp.

and my guide can also be used in any bracet.

also my friend who i played shaman/mage with is on the server too and i think we are going for our most retarded combo yet.  Cool

Not true. Most arena matches are won by timing your cooldowns and abilities to counter the other teams, while keeping them under pressure.  The main mistake made in an arena is using defensive abilities (ice block, pvp trinket, divine protection) prematurely, which then lets the other team use offensive abilities to take you down.

I agree. To summarize, any big mistake made in PvP in general will cause you to lose. I have been practicing up with a couple guild mates lately, as I have always been a bit of a carebear until I came to this server. There are three main things that tend to cause one to lose... not being prepared for PvP, being caught off guard, and making mistakes during PvP.

Not being prepared is the starter cause. If you don't have your CC trinket equipped, your buffs are down, and your cooldowns are still cooling, then you are in trouble from the start.

The second is being caught off guard. If you aren't paying attention, you are regening life and mana, you are afk, etc. then you were never ready to fight in the first place.

The last is mistakes. A lot of people (including myself) tend to get into PvP and freak out. The main thing is to keep cool just like it is PvE. I almost always used to forget all of the assets I had available to me (health and mana pots, major healthstones, etc.) and this usually leads to a short battle. By keeping cool and thinking on your feet, you are at least guaranteed to get away, if not win, assuming the first two steps are in place. It IS better to run if you are going to die in PvP than just stand there and lose. If you get away, you can at least mount an offensive, later. Unless it is arena, anyways. lol Most of this applies to all PvP, but there are some exceptions, just like everything else in life.
