First time poster, occasional WoW player here.  This server does present a different type of challenge for me in the sense that I'm progressing far faster than I anticipated.  I'm level 57 now and I still don't have a mount (though I'm close) and between saving for a mount and leveling at a much faster pace my hunter and pet skills are stagnating.  I guess my first question is: how do you all recommend I try to make more money? At this point, I'm thinking the most obvious answer is go after some human mobs close to my level and grind them.  I didn't even touch professions because of the accelerated pace of playing, so that might be part of my issue?

Also, I haven't bothered to look yet but is the AH an OK place to sell things?  My guess is no, considered the multiplied drop rate and that fact that the majority of people are doing the high-level instances at this point.

Also, as I said I'm currently level 57 and being a hunter I'm having no problems using my pet to tank but the few times my target gets me in melee I'm generally not doing good.  Between having a low staff skill level and piss-poor defense, I'm typically fighting tooth-and-nail until my pet aggros again.  While increasing my staff level is fairly easy, I've noticed that the majority of my equip is from level 40 and below and my armor reduces damage by about 24%.  This is obviously not good, but I have no idea how to go about getting more appropriate equipment between (again) saving for a mount, having to pay for hunter and pet skills, and my uncertainty about the availability of items in the AH (not having anyone to do the instances near my level also sucks).

Thanks for your help!

It helps to group up, and run some instances. Exp rates and drop rates of coin and useful items are significiantly higher in dungeons than just 'world grinding" on humanoids. A balanced group will have some combination of a tank, a healer, crowd-control, and "dps" -- occasioinally, bored level 70's run newer players 55+ through instances like Stratholme. Helps to ask around in LFG or even WorldChat.

One bug worth noting for you; Hunter Pets gain no exp while in a group, so they'll get no levels, though you will... just Dismiss them, run with the group, and Call them again afterwards, once you've left the party.

Warm Regards

Of course, this doesn't really matter if your pet is already level 70, I'm assuming.

The thing about instances in my level range is that I expect that during a run they'll run out of their usefulness.  Case in point: if I were to run UD Strat and BRS now (at level 57) I may be happy to get the Beaststalker's set pieces, but of course Beastmaster will be soon within reach and then Beast Lord.  I guess I'm complaining about nothing, since I'm eventually going to reach a limit with how far I can go.

A good way to make money that I love using if being a Farmer for hire. People ask you to farm somthing you find the place tell them a fee per stack or each and if they agree away you go and farm, great way to make money, only last night i made about 200g from 10 minutes work.
