[INFO] Windows Vista and WoW

I've seen a lot of users that cant connect to our server, dunno if they got vista or not but i tought lets make an vista topic about it

First the realmlist editing
1. Go to your wow folder
2. Find the "Realmlist" file
3. Right click on it , then go to open with notepad
4. Then the realmlist.wtf opens with notepad you edit the file to say:

set realmlist realm1.wowrage.nl

5. Then try to save it
6. Did it work then be happy
7. If not then try to save to your desktop by example.
8. Then overwrite the "old" realmlist.wtf
Second got the so called "Cache" file

1. Delete the "cache" file everytime you use WoW!! so you wouldn't get stuck some much(or can't ressurect)

WoWrage launcher

Download this file from here

This will auto delete ur cache file and edit your realmlist.wtf

1. Download it
2. Then open the file
3. If u can run the .exe then right click an press: "Run as Adminstrator"
4. Select "WoWRage" and have fun

hey guys. im a little new to the whole aspect of the free wow servers. but i thought wtf ill try it. cuz i want to get my wow on again. i got my self kicked of the pay blizzard servers cuz i was botting like a retard. so they froze my act. well  i was wandering if theres any way one of you guys could walk me through the process of geting you server on my comp. i have a vista. and i resontly deleted my wow program off my computer. do i need it?...help

Just to start with, using bots is illegal on our server just like the blizzard onces.
We will catch you if you use them and our policy on cheating is a permanent (full) ban without a warning.

If you play here without cheating you are of course most welcome to join!

You have to install your wow software and the burning crusade expansion to be able to play on this server.
If you don't own the cd's anymore you can download the free trial from the official website (or google for a download link).
Once you've installed everything including all patches up to 2.3.2 (2.3.3 works as well, but is not fully tested atm) you can folow this guide.

ty for the info. i will deff download the disks again and download your server. and no worries i will not bot on your server. to tell you the truth. i was just testing one i heard abought and it took me like 10 min to get kicked off.

on legit wow i tried bots once...i never got caught but it was completely pointless and i prefered working takes the fun and feeling of ahievement out of everything

my friend want me to play on another private server but when i change the realmlist is does not happen anything i don't need to have a realmlist to use but im can only play on blizzard and wowrage plz can someone tell me how i can play on the other private server plz

Ive had this problem before itd just that you need to delete it then save close it.
open it again and put the desised reamlist.

hey i dunno how to do this im useing a windows HP and i cant find the note pad file or the realmlist file what do i do?

this is my first time on a private server and i tried changing the realmlist but it wont do it
is there something i could do or am i ****ed

What you can do is:

* changing the realmlist. (you problaby already did that)
* using the WRLauncher or make a quickbutton.
* Be sure that your install has the patch 2.3.3 and not 2.4.x

Then it should be working

fixed it but when i try to login it comes up "Unable to Validate Game version. This may be caused by corruption or interference of another program"
what do i do to fix it ?

Hey, I did everything you said, and i have a vista and it says i cannot connect.  I also checked everything it told me to check such as internet connection opening of the ports, etc., but it still doesn't work.  I have downloaded the wrlauncher, but still nothing.  I have tried manually to do it also, but that doesn't work either.  I had it working earlier, but my comp had a problem and corrupted the files so I uninstalled it and then installed it and did everything over.
