Heya Triggs, since you asked for feedback;
I just ran BM heroic, with a resto druid tanking and a mage who shall remain unnamed that is very poor at controlling threat (who is not me =P), and we had no problems at all. So, based on a couple quick 5-man runs, I'm really optimistic. I'll let you know if I get into an instance with anyone else using Omen so we can play around with it, and I'd say we'll raid something (most likely Kara) as a guild later today, so I'll let ya know how that goes over.
But yeah, on first glance, great job tweaking threat, & thanks!

Hey Triggs!

My feedback on the threat:  The threat itself seems to be okay.  We did a Kara run and we still had some aggro rips, but I'm more and more thinking that's due to the global CD issues rather than the threat itself.  I'll keep a close eye on the threat and if I notice anything, I'll let you know.

I'm going to be Mary quite contrary here, and I'm sorry about it Sad . When we did Karazhan, we did okay with threat, but primarily because the tanks were dps-taunt tanking. The discrepancy between threat values that I was monitoring and the observed threat was still present, and still big. After the run, Andy happened to show me the damage meters, which pretty much compounded the issue - our top two dpsers were the tanks, indicating that their holding threat considerably better was more due to the fact that they were dpsing more and our dps classes were dpsing less.

Today, we tested it in a more conclusive manner, and here's what we observed. (True threat values = omen based threat, observed threat = point at where the mob aggroes  a dpser)

For the sake of reliability, we used Trish with his talents reset, and no threat-modifying talents added.  I too respecced, removing all threat modifiers, and also all threat modifying equipment. Trish tanked naked with a broom and/or a low level sword and shield.

Sunder Armor - possibly the biggest culprit. We found that while tanking using only sunder armor and white dps from a broom (and then later the low level sword), the discrepancy between true threat values and observed threat was huge. We were literally pulling aggro at about 30-40% of his threat, indicating that sunder armor is incorrectly applying the 301 static threat that it should.

Shield Slam - worked like a charm. Could go within a 5% range of Trish's threat and still not pull aggro.

Revenge - slightly off but within a 15% discrepancy of observed threat and actual threat. (possibly due to defensive stance, see below)

Defensive stance - slightly off as well, indicating that it might be responsible for revenges threat discrepancy (defensive stance should be doing 1.3x threat of course).

To further verify these results, we had Trish tank a mob doing just raw white dps (in battle stance), and nothing else. This time we could again go within 5% of his threat range, which was brilliant, but further showed that while dps-threat is fine, certain applied threat from abilities is faulty.

So to sum it up, I'm convinced something is tragicly wrong with sunder armor. Devastate obviously ties into sunder armor and therefore might be off too, but because it is impossible to test devastates threat conclusively without sunder armor, we could not do it unfortunately. Actually, I suppose we -could- but we'd have bad results anyway due to sunder armor.

The others, as stated, shield slam being fine, and defensive stance as well as revenge being slightly off the mark.

I'm hoping to test with a druid later, but perhaps druid tanking is better seeing as Niklams positive feedback comes from using a druid tank.

Thank you, and I hope this is useful.

-Ianthe.

Thanks a lot for that report caquen00 (Ianthe)! yours cover exactly everything i needed to know Smiley

So I debugged and I can confirm that the Sunder armor is indeed not modifying the generated threat.
It looks like it never worked!

Already got it working on my local copy Smiley will apply _soon_ (well.. I'll apply it right away Cheesy)

-- and applied!

We attempted Maiden tonight and i'm afraid she is stil bugged. When you start the encounter she instantly kills everyone with some "holy light chain beam effect AoE spell" (its the only way to describe it that I can think of!)

should be fixed after a restart

Noticed that the arena join and shadowcloth fixes were put under applied already.

Shadowcloth cooldown now seems fine (resets when logged), however alliance teams still face the same problems when joining arenas (i.e. only one person may join after which the 'join' window disappears).

A few updates merged to the 2.3.x core, since were still not done on the dev server getting it ready for release.
We want it to be as good as possible before were going live with it.
All the 2.4.x server out there are simply not working like our current 2.3 does, things like missing trainer templates have to be solved before we get it live.

There has been a huge amount of work done on the dev server, lots of spells have been fixed, arena issues solved etc. Those can't be merged with our 2.3.x core because the code base is to different and I don't want to fix the same thing twice.

Hope this updates some of you again.

Since 2.4 has no ETA (do not upgrade!) I'm starting to convert some of the work to the live 2.3.2 server.

Hey Triggs.  I just tested out the totems immunity to AoE.  Against true AoE they don't get hit! YAY!! *thumbs up*  But sadly... a move that hits additional targets like Cleave, Sweeping Strikes, Swipe, etc, still counts the totems as legitimate targets for the extra attack.  Totems were immune to this as well in retail.  Just thought I'd let you know.

Thanks for working on this!!

EDIT: Rogues are still able to drop combat after stopping attacking for roughly a second.  Trish and Crysta got stun-locked by two rogues in this method who used the stealth abuse to cheap shot repeatedly.  I just tested this dropping combat, and it takes no more than a second for rogues to drop out.  I have imp stealth on my rogue, so the CD is only 5 seconds before I can stealth again, and I've dropped it long before it's off CD.
